1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Blanched, slivered almonds
1 tbsp Dark brown sugar
2 Cloves garlic, pressed
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
1/4 cup Dry white wine or sherry
4 small Dozen white onions, fresh or canned

Melt butter. Stir in almonds and brown sugar. Add pressed garlic, seasonings and wine. Add onions and stir until well coated. Cover and bake at 350ø for 1 hour, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to coat onions. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
