Melt shortening in pan. Mix shortening and ingredients other than milk toge ther. Gradually add milk and mix. You have the right amount of milk when the dough is a sticky consistency. Oil a baking pan and set aside. Dump the dough out on a floured board and cover with enough flour so that it isn't sticky. Roll dough out 1/2 inch high and cut out biscuits with a floured glass or biscuit cutter. Dunk the biscuits in the oil and flip them over. Bake at 500 degrees for 15 minutes.
